sily-1sily-2sily-3sily-4sily-5sily-6-sSorry if you have to squint your eyes to read it :( but here is my veggie book :)  It’s 4 love letters and a break up note at the end written entirely in veggie puns.

Here’s my most recent finished project: Beija Cosmetics.  For more info on the concept see previous post.  Also sorry for the background I’m too tired to photograph it against a black background…will at a later date.  I’m really happy with it…enjoy :)

Presto!

presto0051Presto Sketch 1Presto Sketch 2

Presto! is my next project, Al dente’s collection of dinners that are so delicious they must be magic.  Inspired by old magic kits that include this such as…top hat, a bow tie, pack of card, maybe a snake in a can…etc.

The overall box will be shaped like a top hat and and have clear vellum where the opening is so one can look inside.   The design on the outside will be inspired by vintage magician posters.  The contents will include bow tie pasta (you never know how many bow ties a magician might need…), a pack of cards box with cheese instead and the pesto sauce will be in a can of pesto/snakes.  The back of the packaging will have the Magician’s Oath but adapted to be the Chef’s Oath and how they won’t share how they made such a magical dish :)  So far I’m excited to start working on this project and have included some sketches.  Wish me luck in class I hope the teacher likes it…

beija cosmetics

beija cosmetics logopaper my boxes will be made out of

This is my first blog so bear with me…

Currently I’m working on a project for my Packaging Tech Class where we have to come up with packaging for an eco-friendly cosmetics company.  The base of their makeup is made out of indigenous flora of Brazil.  The product is made for Barney’s and is for women 22-40.  After doing some research into pretty Portuguese words I came up with beija, which is short for beija-flor (flower-kisser/hummingbird).  The flower part is implied using the floral paper for the packaging.

The box design will consist of a box created from the seed paper as seen above.  Seed paper is made so that one can plant it and flowers will grow.  Some of the flowers that grow from the paper are flowers that hummingbirds feed from.  The logo and information will be placed on the box with a sticker, stuck on with an eco-friendly glue.  This way there isn’t much waste with the product and the handmade paper gives it a more luxurious feel.

Now off to create some pasta gift packaging…
